On June 5, Tsinghua University (State Key Laboratory of Power Systems) and CYG SUNRI officially inaugurated the Joint Research Center for Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration at Tsinghua University. The first management committee meeting of the center was also held on the same day.

Attendees of the unveiling ceremony included Prof. Min Yong, Director of the State Key Lab of Power Systems at Tsinghua University; Prof. Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University; Qiang Wei, Vice President of CYG Group and General Manager of CYG SUNRI; and Zhang Guangjia, Chief Engineer of CYG SUNRI, among other representatives from both sides.

The Joint Research Center is designed to integrate Tsinghua University's strengths in cutting-edge research and talent development with CYG SUNRI’s deep expertise in technological innovation and engineering application. Through this strategic collaboration, the two sides aim to address key frontier issues in source-grid-load-storage integration, focusing on areas such as economic planning and simulation, stability control and regulation, as well as optimization in dispatching and operations. The center will accelerate the transformation of research into practical applications and provide technological support for building a safe, efficient new power system, aligned with China’s national energy strategy and dual carbon goals.

During the ceremony, speeches were delivered by Prof. Min Yong, Prof. Zheng Zedong, and General Manager Qiang Wei. Attendees also held in-depth discussions on trends in integrated energy technology, core research priorities, implementation plans for joint research projects, and future market prospects. The unveiling was jointly completed by Prof. Min Yong and General Manager Qiang Wei.

Looking ahead, the Joint Research Center will serve as a long-term, stable, and efficient cooperation platform for both parties, with a continued focus on collaborative R&D, technology transfer, demonstration projects, and the cultivation of top-tier talent. The center will leverage high-quality resources from both sides to explore new models for deep integration across industry, academia, research, and application — driving large-scale deployment of innovative technologies and contributing to the high-quality development of China’s energy and power sector.
